Paints and water-repellent agents
Water-repellent agents confer water-repellent properties to the materials without sacrifice of their outward appearance, gas and vapor permeability. They also increase durability of constructions, prevent from salt efflorescence on the brick work. Water-repellent agents are used to protect absorbing, foamed construction materials - impregnation of concrete of all types, mineral plaster, mineral-based artificial stone, ceramic tile, sand-lime brick, cement-fiber boards - from moisture.
Water-repellent agents by SamChemi® are remarkable for their extremely high penetration capability (about 10mm of dip penetration even in the case of concrete impregnation).
Thanks to their alkali stability, water-repellent agents by SamChemi® are the best means of the impregnation of concrete. A water-repellent effect of concrete impregnation can be seen in 2 hours after drying-out. A surface processed by a water-repellent agent can be covered with water-dispersion paints.
Silicone (organosilicone) water-repellent agents neither were widely used in the USSR, nor they are today in Russia, although they have been known worldwide for at least 50 years. Such situation was influenced by several factors, such as the deficit of silicone water-repellent agents and engineers, builders and customers’ insufficient knowledge. Nowadays the situation is changing, and the production and consumption of silicone water-repellent agents are increasing rapidly.
